Iznajar

Enveloped by rolling hills, sitting on top of a dramatic rocky outcrop, surrounded on three sides by the breathtaking aqua blue waters of the largest lake in Andalucía yet only a 45 minute drive from the coast, it is a truly stunning setting.

Studded with olive groves, the picturesque white village of Iznájar is the southern gateway to the beautiful Subbetica Natural Park.

Topped by a Moorish castle, this typically Spanish village is a classic "pueblo blanco". Views from the top of the village are sensational over the lake and surrounding countryside, with olive groves as far as the eye can see, dramatic cliffs and pine trees compliment an aqua blue lake which surrounds three sides of the village. It really is a sight to be seen and not to be missed.

Take a walk up to through the old winding streets to discover a village full of history or head off to the uncrowded beach where you can hire canoes, pedalos or take a lake tour. Explore by hiking or cycling through olive groves, go white water rafting or canyoning... or simply sit with a glass of wine, enjoying tapas as you watch the sun set over the lake.

A photographers paradise with stunning bird life from raptors to bee eaters, from cliffs and pine trees to olive groves and rolling hills and a regular fishing area with competitions held regularly.

Iznajar...the best kept secret in Andalusia is ready and waiting for you !
